AA Hassim Investments was founded by Akbar Hassim in 2004 as a Close Corporation. At the time, few could have imagined that it would grow into what it is today. Yet, through Akbar’s entrepreneurial spirit—evident from a very young age—combined with persistence, resilience, and an unshakable determination to succeed, the business steadily expanded and matured.
In 2015, the Close Corporation was converted into a Private Company (Pty) Ltd, marking a significant milestone in its journey of transformation and growth.
Fast forward another decade to 2025, and the organisation has entered a new era with the formal establishment of AAH HOLDINGS, a 100% black-owned holding company. AAH Holdings has evolved into a dynamic and diversified investment group, with interests spanning multiple sectors and industries. Its portfolio reflects a commitment to innovation, ethical governance, and inclusive economic growth.
- The Creative Company – Established in 2004, The Creative Company is a specialist label manufacturer, providing customised blank and pre-printed label solutions to a wide range of commercial and industrial sectors.
- Futuredev Properties – Founded in 2016, Futuredev is a niche residential real estate company offering the full spectrum of property services, including development, sales, rentals, and property management.
- AAH Investment Properties (Pty) Ltd – A real estate investment company with active investments in residential property and renewable energy. The company offers tax-deductible investment opportunities through Section 12B of the Income Tax Act and holds a Category II Discretionary Financial Services Provider (FSP) licence, registered with the FSCA. It also houses a Construction Division, delivering turnkey residential and commercial development services—from concept through to completion—registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) under classifications 6GB PE and 6CE PE.
- Opentel Technologies – Acquired in 2019 through a strategic merger and later structured into an approved Section 12J Venture Capital Company (VCC) focused on the telecommunications sector. Opentel is also CIDB registered.
- RESPROPFINSERV – Short for Residential Property Financial Services, this entity provides Shariah-compliant, juristic (company-to-company) lending solutions within the property sector, as well as structured collateral-based lending. All offerings are aligned with Islamic finance principles.
- Futuredev Invest – A unique, full-spectrum turnkey real estate collaborative investment platform. Futuredev Invest enables individuals to acquire and co-own A-grade real estate assets through a pooled ownership model—reviving the historic practice of collective investing, now strengthened by modern governance and legal structuring.
- AAH Capital – A licensed Category II discretionary FSP and wealth management company offering a range of ethical investment portfolios. AAH Capital maintains strict exclusion policies, avoiding exposure to the conventional interest-based financial system (Riba) and investments in sectors deemed unethical under Islamic finance principles.
- SRS Specialised Risk Services (Pty) Ltd – Formed in 2013, SRS is a specialist security services provider based in Gauteng. It offers bespoke risk management solutions to a select group of high-value clients, encompassing physical guarding, VIP protection, cyber security, and technical security systems.
- AA Hassim Investments (Pty) Ltd – Established in 2004, this entity now serves as the Group’s consulting and advisory arm, delivering strategic guidance, development management, and project oversight across real estate, infrastructure, and capital projects.
- MSM Holdings – A strategic joint venture between AA Hassim Investments and MSM Holdings, this boutique firm provides bookkeeping, accounting, tax advisory, and audit services to a carefully selected client base, with a focus on integrity, compliance, and personalised financial solutions.
